Kent Mitchell is Fantastic. He listened intently and patiently as I struggled to convey my ideas and vision of our backyard. Despite of my incoherence, Kent captured it all and went to work. His output was so perfect, so transformational -- his Look Book approach is so inspirational that we couldn't wait to get started. Kent came by multiple times during the construction to help work thru some details. Our finished backyard is spectacular and was life-changing for us!

He met with us multiple times, incorporated our wants and needs into his design, presented us with options for materials and plants, and presented us with a space that perfectly matched both the style of our home and the way we live our lives. Kent's design for our backyard indoor/outdoor living was incredible. Initially I wasn't sure we needed a designer as I typically do that myself, however, Kent had a few structural "big ideas" which never would have occurred to me. These absolutely made it worth the additional cost.

Kent really listened to what we wanted.... the 3D presentation of ideas was outstanding. It included views from each window so we could imagine what everything looked like from every angle. That was really valuable.

We've lived in our home for over 20 years -- and there are things we love about our front and back yards, things that were a nuisance, and things we wanted to improve. Kent listened to all of that and gave us back a detailed set of plans that were easy to follow.
Over the years we wasted a lot of time (and money) guessing wrong about what to plant, then taking them out and trying again. The plans gave us a shopping list for the nursery and showed exactly where to plant each one.

I knew I wanted to change the look of the front my home, but I had no idea where to start. I needed someone who could give me a sense of direction in re-designing the landscaping and facade of our home. Enter Kent, from Outer Spaces Exterior Design. From our first meeting, Kent asked me a lot of questions in order to get a sense of what we liked, how we used our home, and what our goals were for our home. Kent took all the information in and put together an AMAZING landscape and facade redesign!
Kent's re-design blew me away! And when I say that, it's actually hard to express how much of an understatement that actually is! Kent was able to create EXACTLY what I wanted, but was unable to articulate or visualize on my own. Furthermore, Kent's facade design in particular is cost effective because it can be constructed without any structural changes to the home. Finally, I'll be able to use the designs during my contracting process. By asking a few contractors to each bid on the same design, I'm sure I save significant costs as I'll be able to clearly compare "apples to apples" bids.
Kent's re-design of my front yard and facade is the first step in helping me create the home of my dreams; something that I'll be excited driving home to at the end of a long work day. I couldn't be happier with Kent and Outer Space Exterior Design!

I’ve worked with Kent in the past so I knew he has a way of asking the kind of questions that allow him to really capture who we are and what we want. Within the first few minutes of talking with him about our backyard, he had given me an idea that was already worth his design fee. He just seems to be able to instantly see possibilities that never would have occurred to me. After that initial conversation, I was anxious to see his design. But I wasn’t expecting the level of detail. He was able to give me a 3D 'virtual tour' of my new yard along with reference photos to help me visualize everything. I could even see how everything would look from different spots inside our house. He nailed it, totally exceeded my expectations. I’m doing some of the work myself, so it’s great having a detailed master plan to work from and get excited about.

Kent was fantastic! He was creative and worked quickly to give us a design that was so well thought out. He came in with an open mind, listened to our needs and came back with an innovative design that far exceeded anything we could have hoped for. His designs involved both hardscaping and landscaping, and incorporated a pergola, a water feature and a unique deck design that perfectly complimented our home’s aesthetic . The “Look Book” and detailed 3D plans he provided us were incredibly detailed and thorough and gave our contractor everything he needed for the project. All of this for a very reasonable fee. Working with Kent at Outer Spaces was a pleasure .. friendly and easy to work with, he delivered our beautiful plans and made adjustments for us in speedy fashion... we couldn’t have had a better experience!

Kent listens to what vision the client is going for and works to create something amazing. Kent came up with a fresh design for the front and back yard at my house and I am so thrilled with his plans. Kent gets to know the client and their needs, he is also very easy to work with. I can tell he is passionate about each different project he has worked on. Highly Recommend!!
